NextGen Athletics Nevada Coach & Parent Code of Conduct Policy
At NextGen Athletics Nevada ("NextGen Athletics"), we believe that the essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are rooted in sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. To ensure a positive and safe environment for all participants, parents and guardians are expected to adhere to this Parent Code of Conduct. By registering your child or attending any NextGen Athletics event, you agree to the following:
1. Support and Encouragement
I will not force my child to participate in sports.
I will remember that children participate to have fun, and that the game is for youth, not adults.
I will praise my child for competing fairly, trying hard, and prioritizing effort over results.
I will make my child feel valued regardless of the outcome of a game or performance.
2. Safety and Communication
I will inform the coach of any physical disability or condition that may affect the safety of my child or others.
I will demand a sports environment free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all sports events.
3. Respect for All Participants
I (and my guests) will be a positive role model by demonstrating respect, courtesy, and good sportsmanship to all players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
I will teach my child to treat others with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or ability.
I will not engage in unsportsmanlike behavior such as booing, taunting, or using profane language or gestures.
4. Sportsmanship and Development
I will emphasize skill development and the enjoyment of sports over winning.
I will teach my child to play by the rules and resolve conflicts respectfully.
I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices unless I am an official coach.
5. Interactions with Coaches and Officials
I will respect the authority of officials, referees, and coaches during games.
I will not question, confront, or discuss game-related issues with coaches or officials during events. I will address any concerns at an agreed-upon time and place
6. Conduct at Events
I will promote a positive environment by encouraging sportsmanship and fair play.
I understand that disruptive behavior, including yelling at participants, officials, or coaches, may result in my removal from the event.
I (and my guests) will refrain from any behavior that could endanger the health or well-being of athletes.
7. Accountability and Consequences
I understand that violations of this Parent Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including suspension or removal from events or programs without prior warning.
